2010  Completed Projects

Great Falls Library Garden: Built a beautiful new dry-stacked stone retaining wall along the outer edge of the garden to enhance the garden, using member-donated stone and labor.

Meadowlark Botanic Gardens: Raised funds to establish a new native plants garden.

Continuing Projects

Great Falls Library Garden, 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA - weekly maintenance and care provided by members volunteering their time. In addition to beautifying the library, the garden demonstrates the use of native and deer-resistant plants.

Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, 3302 Gallows Road, Falls, Church, VA - design and donate floral centerpieces for the Institute's spring social event.

Fairfax County Health Department, Lewinsville ADHC, 1609 Great Falls Street, McLean, VA - design, prepare and donate holiday arrangements using seasonal materials from our gardens, for the enjoyment of the public, particularly senior citizens.

Fundraising

Spring Plant Sale - sell to the public a large variety of plants from members' gardens and provide gardening advice. A portion of the funds raised are donated to the Great Falls Library; the rest is used by the Club for community projects, donations to garden and environmental organizations and activities, and to hire speakers for meetings.

Passport to Savings Coupon Book - solicited sponsors and are selling coupon books to help raise funds for the 2011 National Garden Clubs Convention.

NCAGC "Our Capital Congress in Full Bloom" Campaign - selling flower bulbs to help raise funds for the 2011 National Garden Clubs Convention.
